La bella e la bestia

Nei boschi ho pensato a Emily Carr con il suo piccolo zoo in un camper isolato durante la tempesta; nei boschi ho pensato a Rebecca Solnit e alla sua meravigliosa Field guide to getting lost; nei boschi ho dovuto ammettere – ci sono cose  della città di cui non posso ancora fare a meno, ma ci sono cose dei boschi di cui ho bisogno bisogno bisogno. Come mi ha detto F., nei boschi c’è qualcosa che abbiamo rimosso, e quando ci raggiunge è difficile respingerlo. Nei boschi ho pensato all’esatta natura del mio amore.

In the woods I’ve been thinking about Emily Carr and her little zoo in an isolated camper during a storm; in the woods I’ve been thinking about Rebecca Solnit and her awesome Field guide to getting lost;  in the woods I had to admit – there’s things in the city I am not ready to live without, but there’s things in the woods I need need need. As F has said to me, there’s something in the woods we have removed, and when it finally comes to us it’s hard to push it back.  In the woods I’ve been thinking about the exact nature of my love.
