La bella e la bestia

Alcune cose degne di nota nella nostra fettina di blogosfera: Stephanie racconta di come darsi delle limitazioni di colore la aiuti a concentrarsi su qualcosa di specifico nei suoi progetti, altrimenti si trova bloccata per troppa scelta – questo mi fa suonare un campanello, come ho visto anche con gli studenti della Nuova Accademia di belle Arti di Milano, avere dei limiti nei progetti creativi fa bene, ogni volta che mi perdo di qua e di là scrivendo il mio libro (l’argomento è vaaaaasto) mi accorgo che devo solo attenermi strettamente al tema che avevo scelto fin dall’inizio, e questo aiuta molto. Amanda sta invitando i suoi lettori a spedirle foto delle loro macchine fotografiche e di come espongono e raccolgono le loro foto, molto carino! Mav è tornata, il suo nuovo progetto si chiama The card society, andate a vederlo con i vostri occhi, bellissimo come sempre. E, già che ci siamo, Camilla sta raccontando i progressi di Morran nella convalescenza, io e la B siamo stati un po’ preoccupati e ci è tornato il sorriso :) e oggi ho un pranzo importantissssimo –  incrociate le dita per me!!!

A few things on the web that are worth considering: Stephanie tells about colour restrictions helping her sort out what to focus on in her projects, otherwise she gets stuck with too much choice - this rings a bell, as I have experimented also with the students of the New Academy of Fine Arts in Milan  limitations in creative efforts are good, everytime I spread myself all over the place in writing my book (the subject is vaaaast) I realize I only have to strictly stick with the theme I chose in the first place, and that helps a lot. Amanda is inviting her readers to send in pictures of their cameras and their photos displays, very cute! Mav is back, her new project is called The card society, go there yourselves, it’s as beautiful as ever. And, by the way, Camilla is tracking Morran’s recovery from surgery, myself and the B have been quite worried and now back to smile :)  and I have a veeeery important lunch today- cross your fingers for me, please!

Ieri è stato – di gran lunga –  il giorno più visto di questo blog, perciò complimenti a tutti! In tempi di raccolta di carte per le tasse (perlomeno in Italia, e sicuramente al tavolo della colazione di casa mia stamattina), mancanza di lavori (dappertutto), terremoti, prati trascurati e generale tristezza, oggi, a partire dal concetto che bloggare fa bene, solo cose capricciose e carine: il parigino “Au nom de la rose” ha aperto anche a Milano, e non è ancora diventato fighetto, le rose cambiano di giorno in giorno e hanno anche quelle inglesi (le rose spettinate, come le chiamo io) e se ne può comprare anche una sola, a prezzi da civile fiorista comune; la sempre incantevole Camilla ha postato delle foto di Morran che gioca con un uovo, vado spedita sul capitolo 3 e ho già visioni inconfessabili del libro finito, Paper Cameras è tornata a bloggare e ci segnala i veramente obliqui Unicorn Diaries, ho scoperto solo oggi cosa sono i jika-tabi, e già che c’ero anche i kofu dama; in vista della giornata mondiale del libro la mia amica A. ha organizzato una bella giornata di bookcrossing ai Chiostri dell’Umanitaria per questa domenica dalle 11 alle 18, E. mi ha parlato molto bene del PS1 al Queens, museo di arte contemporanea decentrato e senza turisti, congratulazioni a B&N che si sposano!, S. è partita per lidi esotici e bisogna convincerla al ritorno ad aprire un blog tutto suo, la Mole Sister è in Spagna e spero che se la goda, e per questo fine settimana fervono preparativi per un eccessivo numero di pranzi merende e cene – il mondo gira ancora. 

Yesterday was – by far – top day of this blog, so cheers to everyone of you! In times of collecting papers for taxes (al least in Italy, at least at my breakfast table this morning), lack of jobs (everywhere), earthquakes, neglected lawns and general misery, stepping from the concept that blogging is good for you, today only whimsical and lovely things: parisian “au nom de la rose” opened in Milano too, and it hasn’t turned all fashionista yet, roses change from day to day and they also have English roses (ruffled roses as I call them), you can buy just one if you want and they come at an average florist shop price; the always enchanting Camilla has posted pics of Morran playing with an egg, I’m sliding down chapter 3 and already have disproportionate dreams of the book finished, Paper Cameras is back to posting and she recommends the really oblique Unicorn Diaries, I only found out today what jika-tabi are, and for that matter also kofu dama; for the oncoming International  Book Day my friend A has organized a bookcrossing day in a beautiful place in Milano, E has told me great things about PS1 in Queens, tourist-free contemporary art museum, congratulations to  B&N who are going to get married!,  S has left for exotic locations and we need to convince her to start her own blog when she’s back, the Mole Sister is in Spain and I hope she enjoys it, and preparations are on the way for an excessive number of lunches, teas and dinner parties, more than a weekend can hold - the world’s still spinning.
