La bella e la bestia

Oggi è una di quelle giornate in cui bisogna essere preparati a cambi di programma e nessun rimpianto. Aspettiamo i temporali.  La Sposa è tornata dagli Stati Uniti completamente entusiasta! Potrei dire che sto scrivendo ma in realtà sto tagliando. Stranamente, è quasi come scrivere, perché è un processo di chiarificazione, di svelamento. Oggi capitolo 9. Vorrei essere come Bruce Lee e volteggiare lucida e leggera con forbici d’oro.

Today is one of those days when you have to be prepared for changes in schedule and no regrets. We’re waiting for storms. The Bride is back from the States and head over heels with joy! I could say I’m writing but in truth I’m cutting. Strangely, it is almost like writing, a process of clarification and revealment. Today chapter 9. I wish I was Bruce Lee, swirling lucid and light with my golden scissors.

Al matrimonio mi sono infilata nella stupenda mostra di video di Tacita Dean, il caldo torrido rendeva ancora più credibili i rumori dei vecchi proiettori nelle sale dai soffitti affrescati altrimenti vuote, nel buio assoluto. Tacita Dean è la maestra della lentezza – ci sono segreti intrappolati nelle crepe del nostro tempo se solo rallentiamo abbastanza da vederle. Questo è il vecchio coreografo Merce Cunningham che danza (da fermo) sulla (silenziosa) “4′33”” di John Cage. Avrei bisogno di fare come lui.

While at the wedding, I sneaked into the beautiful exhibition of videos by Tacita Dean, the heat made the noise of projectors all the more believable in the otherwise empty rooms with frescoed ceilings, in absolute dark.  She’s the master of slow – secrets are trapped in the cracks of our time if we only slow down enough to observe. This is old coreographer Merce Cunnigham dancing (still) to John Cage’s (silent) ”4′33””. I’d need to do the same.
