La bella e la bestia

La B non si capacita che questa annata di taccuini non significhi che ho un libro pronto.

Le foto di questa settimana saranno tutte quadretti dell’ordine che ho fatto nel fine settimana, nei ritagli intorno al lavoro sul libro. Riordinate carte e bollette, e anche il mio schedario, ho fatto posto per le future stampe delle foto, le foto da incorniciare, gli album da preparare su moleskine – tutto rimandato a quando il libro sarà finito. Questo è l’album sull’ultimo viaggio a New York, piccole stampe wallet a colori su pagine medie da aquarello, due per pagina.

Pics for this week will all come from the uncluttering I did in the weekend, in the few moments free from revising the book. Old papers and bills well in order, my writing files too, I proceeded to make room for the future photo prints, the prints to be framed, the ones to be made in moleskine albums – all delayed to when the book will be finished. This is the album of the last trip to NY, small wallet color prints on medium watercolour pages, two for each page.

Comincia a farsi interessante. Mettere insieme gli amati Moleskine che uso per scrivere e le foto. Mentre la macchina è in riparazione, ho studiato un po’.  Posso utilizzare gli album orizzontali (quelli da acquarello) e soprattutto ho fatto due scoperte: non è vero che odio stampare le foto digitali, è che non trovavo il formato giusto per me – che è il wallet.  Secondo,  stampando con una stampantina i colori vengono ancora più sfumati che nell’originale, e alla fine mi piace. Ogni pagina di un Moleskine tascabile può portare 1 piccola stampa wallet. Un moleskine normale ne porta 2 per pagina. Il meraviglioso nuovo Folio A4 ne porta 9 per pagina, non oso pensare a quante ne porta lo stupendo A3, ammesso che sia solo una questione di spazio. Gironzolando per la rete, dove i fratelli di Moleskine pullulano, ovviamente qualcuno lo fa già, e qualcuno incolla le foto a colori sui taccuini a quadretti. Roba bella :)

It’s getting interesting. Putting together beloved Moleskines I use for writing and photo prints. While the camera is still in repair, I’ve been studying a bit. I can use the horizontal albums (watercolour paper, 60 pages) – and most of all I made two good findings: it’s not true I hate digital printing, it’s just that I couldn’t find the right format for me, which is small, wallet size; second, printing with an average printer colors are even more blended than the neutral setting of my originals, and I like that. Every pocket Moleskine page can carry 1 small wallet pic. A normal Moleskine page carries 2. The wonderful new Folio (A4) carries up to 9 per page, not mentioning how many a new Folio A3 page could carry if mere number was an issue. Browsing the web, crowded with M’skine brothers, obviously a few already do that, somee ven glueing color pics to squared paper. Nice stuff :)
