La B sta aspettando che io torni a scrivere. Io sto aspettando che il mio cuore finisca di spezzarsi.  Oggi ho visto due lucertole che si rincorrevano, nel mondo animale il gioco è dappertutto. L’articolo mensile della scrittrice Jeanette Winterson stavolta mi ha veramente mandato gambe all’aria, potete leggerlo qui.

Questa è F. poco dopo avermi salvato la vita con un kit invernale di cibo, la sua specialità (salvare le persone col cibo, intendo). Una parte (di lei) per il tutto. Il miglior esempio di creatura liquida e inafferrabile nel suo insieme è sicuramente la B, che ritrovo di più in un singolo indizio che nel ritratto complessivo, e questo vorrei esplorarlo un po’ con le fotografie. A proposito di incompiutezze e di rinuncia al controllo totale (vedi post precedente), la scrittrice inglese Jeanette Winterson – che scrive un bellissimo articolo sul suo sito una volta al mese – ha appena pubblicato quello di dicembre, in cui racconta che il pilota veramente esperto si distingue proprio perché non cerca di correggere ogni minimo sussulto dell’aereo; veglia e aspetta, perché sa che andrà a posto da solo. Forse la vera padronanza è questo, una fiducia che le cose, se le cominci, si completano da sole. E le creazioni più potenti sono quelle che ci fanno contribuire con l’immaginazione al loro completamento.
Grazie a un mio caro amico, che è anche l’uomo-che-legge-più-libri-del-mondo (io temo di essere la versione donna), un po’ di tempo fa ho scoperto uno scrittore favoloso, Jim Harrison, con “Ritorno sulla terra”; adesso dopo molte traversie mi sono finalmente accaparrata una copia di “Dalva”, un’epopea moderna di discendenti dei Sioux in Nebraska – una storia così gustosa che ti sembra di avere un caminetto anche se non ce l’hai.
Nel frattempo, la B pone giustamente la questione di come – noi che siamo la B e la B – chiameremo d’ora in poi B., che per giunta di soprannome fa “il B”. Per adesso, se avete voglia di vedere uno che si diverte veramente, potete godervelo qui e qui. Qui arrivano tre giorni di festa, che spero saranno pieni di tepore, amici e buoni libri per tutti.

Talking of unfinished stuff and giving up control (see previous post), British writer Jeanette Winterson – who writes a monthly column on her website – has published the December one, in which she tells of how the most accomplished pilot is the one that doesn’t struggle to fix every smallest shake of the airplane. He simply watches and waits, because he knows that it will fix itself. Maybe real mastery is this: a trust that things, once started, will fulfil themselves. And the most powerful works of creativity are the ones that allow us to contribute to their completeness with our imagination.
A dear friend, otherwise known as the-man-who-reads-most-books-in-the-world (I’m afraid I’m the woman version) introduced me to a great writer, Jim Harrison, with “Returning to Earth”; now after a lot of struggle I got myself a copy of “Dalva”, a modern epic of Sioux descendants in Nebraska: such a good story, it makes you feel you have a fireplace even if you don’t.
In the meantime, the B poses a legitimate question, of how from now on we – being the B and the B – will call B, whose nickname is “the B” to boot.
