Ciao a tutti, da stasera comincio le vacanze, e ho deciso di fare un esperimento per vedere che idee mi vengono se sono obbligata a stare un mese intero senza i blog,  senza Twitter e senza posta elettronica, soprattutto in previsione di un settembre di fuoco. Disintossicarsi sarà dura, e mi mancherete molto, ma ci rivediamo il 6 settembre con tante cose nuove da raccontarci. Un abbraccio e buone vacanze a tutti!!!

Hi everyone, I’m starting my holidays tonight and I’ve made up my mind about an experiment: see what kind of ideas pop up with no blogs, no Twitter, no e-mail for one whole month, especially thinking ahead to a raging September. Cleaning up is going to be hard, and I’m going to miss you much, but we’ll get back in touch on Sept 6th with a lot of news to tell. A big hug and enjoy your holidays too!!

Ho appena ricevuto la prima copia stampata del mio libro. Ha un così buon odore…..

I just got the first printed copy of my book. It smells sooooo good….

Più mi avvicino alle vacanze, più faccio sogni stranissimi, come se il mio corpo si stesse sbarazzando di tutta la spazzatura.

The closer I get to holidays, the more I’m having really really strange dreams, as if my body was getting rid of all the rubbish.

Di tutte le cose difficili che sto imparando, la più difficile è come essere una buona madre per me stessa.

Of all the difficult things I’m learning, the most difficult’s got to be how to be a good mother to myself.

When I saw this phone I was dying to call you.

La presentazione di ieri è stata abbastanza comica, quando è stato il mio turno mi sono accorta di avere in bocca il chewing-gum che non sapevo dove mettere, così l’ho appiccicato sotto i fogli da cui dovevo leggere; mezz’ora dopo avevo un lungo filo gommoso appiccicato alle dita. A parte questo, e l’emozione, mi è servito molto a capire cosa fare (e non fare) le prossime volte, ma soprattutto il libro mi ha protetto, il mio angelo della scala antincendio mi ha protetto, i miei amici mi hanno protetto, e fra i miei amici c’erano amici che non sapevo di avere, grazie di cuore.

My first reading yesterday was quite comic, when it was my turn to speak I realized I was chewing a gum that I didn’t know where to put, so I stuck it under the sheets I would read from. Half an hour later a long thread of chewing gum was stuck to my fingers. This and the overflowing emotion notwithstanding, I’m going to use it to pin down what to do (and  not do) next time, but even more important, the book protected me, my angel of the fire escape protected me, my friends protected me, and among my friends there were friends I didn’t even know I had, thank you so much.

Devo diventare una cerva coraggiosa entro domani.

I must grow into a brave deer within tomorrow.

Ho letto un post di habit che diceva qualcosa tipo: “mi sorprende che più sfide mi trovo ad affrontare, e più mi scopro piena di speranza”.

Yesterday I read this post from habit, and it rang so true.
